PJ Party

After a fun filled night at Chuckie Cheese we went back to my parent's house and had a PJ Party with the kids. The kids love staying the night at my parent's house! I have also come to the realization that it is impossible to take a good picture of 4 children under the age of 4.

Chuckie Cheese

Last Saturday we went to Chuckie Cheese with the nieces and nephew. Chuckie Cheese is a kids dream and a parents nightmare. We all ate the horrible over priced food first then played games with the kids. The kids had a great time.

Relay for Life

It's that time again...Relay for Life. For the last several years Eric and I have made a commitment to help raise money and walk to help fight cancer. Eric and I hope to raise $500.00 this year. If cancer has never effected your life you are blessed, but if cancer has effected your life you know the devastation it can have on a family. If you want to join Eric and I and help fight cancer you can help sponsor us. The Relay this year will be held in Huntington June 12th and 13th. If you wish to donate you can write a check to Relay for Life and Mail it to us. You can purchase foot prints for $1.00 or Luminaries for $10.00 or donate any amount you choose. Thank You for your support.

Valentines Day

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY 2010

Eric and I celebrated Valentines Day in style. We first went to Takaoka for dinner. Eric had tuna steak and I had filet mignon. After dinner we went to see the new movie Valentines Day "how fitting". The movie was very cute! After the movie we had a delicious ice cream treat. We had a wonderful celebration of love for each other!

Lazy Olympics

Eric and I enjoyed a lazy Olympic weekend. We watch hours of the Olympics and laid around most of the weekend! We also indulged in less than healthy food.

The Reception Search

I spent the afternoon with my sister Jennifer, my niece Alivia, and Jennifer's Mother in-law to be. We went on a venue hunt for Jennifer and Drew's wedding reception. My sister Jennifer is getting married this coming fall and has yet to commit to a venue location. Hopefully within the next week she will secure a location. My niece Alivia is excited that the tooth fairy came to visit this week. She lost her two front teeth. Alivia was not very excited about venue shopping, but she did like the escalator at the Coliseum. We had a fun day!

Ready...Set...Go...

Eric and I spent this Friday evening with my brother Dathen and his family. My brother and his wife Lisa have 2 children Addison age 1 and Kinsey age 3. The girls are full of energy! Tonight we went to BW3's for dinner. After dinner we went back to the Strine's residents Addison headed to bed, and Kinsey was ready to play. Uncle Eric and Aunt Heidi played Hi Ho CherryO with Kinsey and she showed us her gymnastic moves.

SuperBowl Sunday

This Sunday the 3rd annual Brouwer Strobel Superbowl Party was held in Huntington. We all started the day off at church together with our Superbowl gear on. Later we all met back up and held up the tradition of way to much food, great drinks, and football. This year the party was divided, the Brouwer's were routing for the Saints and the Strobel's were cheering for the Colts.

Kristi and I made way to much food for the party. This year we tried to make some dishes that went with each team. For the Saints we made jerk chicken on a stick, jambalaya, popcorn shrimp, and Saints cookies. For the Colts we made corn on the cob, garden salad, mozzarella sticks and poppers. We also had speciality drinks, we had hurricanes for the Saints and Blue Wine for the Colts. We also had many other great snacks.

Babysitting

Last evening Dathen and Lisa needed a last minute babysitter. Eric and I were more than happy to spend the evening with our nieces Addison and Kinsey. The girls are growing so quickly and have so much energy! We played with toys, read books, and sang songs.

Ice Ice Baby

Today Eric had the chance to relive his youth by ice skating. When Eric was younger he and his friends would play ice hockey for fun. Over the last five years every winter Eric mentions that we should go ice skating. I always give excuses why we should not go, but today I gave in. This was my first time ice skating. Needless, to say I did not get far from the railing. Eric on the other hand could skate like a pro. We had a blast together, I am glad we had this wonderful experience together!

Post Ordination

After the Ordination we attended a wonderful reception. At the reception we were served a delicious meal. Eric gave a speech to congratulate his brother and we then sang a silly song that a family friend wrote about some of Ron's life experiences. After all the formal festivities were over we went back to the Strobel residents and had a wonderful fellowship time with family.
