Smiley's Adult Prom

On Saturday we attended the Smiley Adult Prom in Indianapolis. The whole concept of an adult prom is great. We indulged in the whole process...hair, make-up, dresses, corsages, limo, dinner, and dancing. The best part of it being an adult prom is we could legally drink and we did not have a curfew.

Last night we celebrated Dan's birthday. We started the night off with gifts, then we headed to Red Lobster. I asked Eric to tell me a favorite memory with his Father. Eric recalled a child all the great vacations their family spent in New York. Happy Birthday Dad we Love You!!

Komets Hockey

On Friday night we enjoyed a night out with the Strine's. We started the evening off at dinner at Cheddar's. Dinner was tasty and we had great conversation. Then we headed to the hockey game. Eric loves hockey since we don't have a professional team close by he will settle for the Komets. We had really good seats and many intoxicated characters around us.

Ouch...

Happy St. Patricks Day
Don't forget to wear your green tomorrow
so you don't get pinched!

Just for Laughs

When ever a woman wears a dress and panty hose she always worries about the TUCK...Every woman always checks to make sure that her dress in not tucked into her panty hose. Well, today I forgot the golden rule of checking to make sure my dress was not tucked into my panty hose. Let me start at the beginning...Today was a beautiful day so I decided to wear a dress to school and internship. After my first class I rushed to the bathroom so I could get to my second class on time. While rushing I accidentally tucked my dress into my panty hose. I walked out of the restroom...down the hallway...outside...down the sidewalk....UNTIL finally a nice woman stopped me tell me about the TUCK!!! I was mortified, I am sure my face was candy apple red, and you guessed it....class just got out so there were tons of people around!! Good thing I have a sense of humor. I have now learned my lesson always check your dress!

Shopping

Eric and I spent the day shopping with Nancy (Eric's Mom). We had a blast we left the house around 10:00 am and returned around 6:00 pm. We shopped until we dropped literally. We bought clothes, shoes, Easter gifts for the nieces and nephew, and a couple small things for Maxy! I love shopping in Indianapolis there are so many more store to choose from!

Great Savings Tips on Shoes for Women
If you wear a size 8 or under in women's shoes you can buy kids shoes for half the price. Today at finish line I picked out a pair of Puma's. I found a clerk and asked him for a size 8, he returned with back news (sorry no size 8's). As I was walking to the checkout lane to buy Eric's shoes, another clerk over heard my situation and the clerk explained that he had those shoes in a Kids size 7. The clerk explain that a kids 7 = women's 8.....kids 6 = women's 7 and so on. So for all you women that wear women's size 8 or under look at the kids shoes first to save a couple bucks!!

Look kids size 7 and I usually wear a women's size 8.

God is Good

As many of you know my Mom was diagnosed with oral cancer in January. My parents told us kids about the cancer first. We all took it pretty hard. When you hear the word CANCER and MOM in the same sentence you cannot help but think of the worst. The doctors reassured us that this type of cancer is very treatable even curable. Yesterday, my Mom had surgery to remove the mass within her mouth. The surgery went very well. My family and I all went to the hospital and occupied our self in the waiting room. When the surgeon called us to the room my heart was pounding out of my chest, but within seconds the surgeon gave us hope. He thinks he removed all the cancer. About 90 minutes later we finally got to see our Mom. Mom was in great spirits after her surgery. My Mom is the strength of our family and even with cancer she never let us crumble. She stayed strong for us and our family. My Mom has taught us so many things over the years, but over the last 3 months she has taught our family how strong we are together. I want to thank everyone that prayed for my Mom.

Liam & Layla

This is my last official Spring Break; I am finally a senior @ IPFW! Eric and I were going to go to New York but with my Mom having surgery and Eric's busy work schedule we decided to stay in Indiana. Eric is out of town this whole week for work so I decided to spend some time in Indianapolis with my sister Brandy and her family. Today I watched Liam and Layla. We had a great day! We started the day with breakfast and then baths! After baths we played with toys, read books, & watch cartoons! Before lunch we decided to make banana bread. Lunch and naps were next! After naps we went outside to enjoy the warm day for the rest of the afternoon.

Banana Bread Ingredients
3-5 Ripe Smashed Bananas
1/3 cups Melted Butter
1 Cup Sugar
1 Beaten Egg
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
Pinch of Salt
1 1/2 Cups Flour
1. Mix Smashed Banana's & Butter Together
2. Add Sugar, Vanilla & Beaten Egg
3. Sprinkle Baking Soda over Mixture
4. Add Flour & Mix
5. Pour Mixture into a buttered 4x8 loaf pan
6. Bake for 1 hour @ 350

We will not be sharing this bread!! Liam and Layla made the bread with help from Aunt Heidi!! The reason we will not be sharing this bread is after Liam and Layla smashed the bananas up, I turned around and they were licking their forks and then stirring the banana's again...LOL...I tried to explain about germs to them but all I could was laugh and join in!!
